Migrating from Blogger to WordPress
Voila!!! We’ve finally migrated to WordPress and our website is fully functional again. We apologize for the inconvenience you may have faced during the transition. We have done our best to make it appear and work perfectly. We hope you’d like the new layout of the website and its performance.
Since it was a great experience for us, we would like to share the steps we undertook for migrating our website from Blogger to WordPress. In case you ever need to migrate your blog like we did, you could follow these steps :
a) Purchase the web hosting plan that suits your requirements. We’ve subscribed to A2Hosting’s Swift Web hosting plan. If you’d like to get fast and reliable SSD hosting from A2hosting, you can get it here with 51% discount.
b) Install WordPress through your cPanel.
c) Edit your nameserver records in your domain name account (i.e. from the account you have created on your domain registrar’s website) so that they now point to the urls provided by your web hosting provider. In our case, these were : ns3.a2hosting.com and ns4.a2hosting.com
d) Login to your WordPress dashboard at the url : http://yourdomain/wp-admin
e) Install the Blogger Importer plugin. Go to Settings > Permalinks and select Custom Structure under Common Settings. Click on the Save Changes button below.
f) Login to your blogger account.
g) Go to Settings > Other and click on Export blog under Blog Tools.
h) Download the .xml file.
i) Go to WordPress Dashboard. Click on Tools > Import.
j) Upload the .xml file that you downloaded from Blogger.
k) Congratulations, you just migrated your blog from Blogger to WordPress. 🙂
Please let us know if the above procedure helped you or someone else you know. We’re always happy to help. 🙂
